The former Toyota plant in St. Petersburg may be restarted within a year. This was announced by Alexander Sitov, Chairman of the City Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade.
According to him, more detailed information is available to the participants in the plant's restart - Gazprom and KamAZ.
The dates are quite vague. It is currently known that it should be restarted within a year. Perhaps a little earlier or later.
In May last year, the former Toyota plant in Shushary was transferred to Aurus, which owns 63.5% of the shares. Another 36 and 0.5% of the shares are owned by the Arab fund Tawazun and Sollers, respectively.
Prior to this, the media reported that the production of cars at the former Toyota plant in St. Petersburg is planned to be restarted in 2026. Aurus, together with an unnamed friendly partner, will allegedly establish the production of cars.
