2026 Tank 400 PHEV Hybrid Now in Chinese Dealerships

The model has received fresh touches in appearance

Tank SUV, a division of Great Wall Motor, has announced the start of deliveries of the updated 2026 Tank 400 plug-in hybrid to dealerships in 178 cities in China. The model has received fresh touches in appearance, including a new Dunhuang Purple body shade, as well as a roof with lidar for upgrading the third-generation Coffee Pilot Ultra assistance system. A Hi4-Z variant has been added to the lineup.

The design of the Tank 400 remains recognizable - with angular lines, but with refinements. The front bumper now has black mesh inserts for more aggression, the spare tire cover has been removed from the rear, and the GWM logo has been moved to the center of the emblem. Dimensions: length 4.96 m, width 1.97 m, height 1.91 m, wheelbase 2.85 m - 21 mm shorter, 10 mm wider, and 5 mm higher than its predecessor. The lidar on the roof plus side and rear cameras enhance Coffee Pilot: now it's autopilot navigation (NOA) in the city and on the highway, with blue signals in the brake lights for notification.

The interior is without surprises: a 12.3-inch instrument panel and a 16.2-inch central touchscreen with new GWM multimedia. The gear selector has moved to the steering column, and options include wireless charging, HUD, digital mirror, a 15.6-inch ceiling screen in the rear, and a mini-refrigerator.

Buyers can choose from two hybrid schemes: the first, Hi4-Z with a 2.0 L ICE (185 kW/380 Nm) plus two electric motors (215+240 kW) and a 59 kWh battery for 200 km on pure electricity (CLTC). The second, Hi4-T with one electric motor (120 kW) and a 37 kWh battery for 105 km on pure electricity. Consumption is 8.4 L/100 km.
