Unofficial deliveries of the new compact crossover Volkswagen Tharu XR, made in China, continue in Russia, and it turned out to be cheaper than even some Lada models. The car is produced at the Shanghai Volkswagen joint venture and is available on classifieds at a price of 1,870,000 rubles.
The model is positioned as an alternative to the Skoda Karoq and Volkswagen Taos crossovers. At the same time, the Tharu XR costs significantly less than its closest competitors: for example, the Geely Coolray is estimated at a minimum of 2,794,990 rubles, and the Lada Vesta SW Cross - from 1,879,000 rubles.
The basic Sharp Advance version for 1.87 million rubles comes with a fabric interior, a digital instrument panel, a multimedia system with a touch screen, air conditioning, an electronic parking brake with AutoHold and several USB ports.
The Sharp Intention package for 1.89 million rubles adds a leather interior, a multi-steering wheel, a panoramic roof, climate control and keyless entry. In different regions, the crossover costs from 1.95 to 2.19 million rubles. All versions are equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with 110 hp and a six-speed "automatic".
More powerful versions are also available with a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 160 hp and a "robot" - their price varies from 1,950,000 rubles in Krasnodar to 2,750,000 rubles in Kazan and Voronezh.
Cars in stock are more expensive: in Cheboksary - from 2.83 million, in Ufa - 2.9 million, and in Krasnodar - 2.95 million rubles. The crossover is already available for sale in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen and other cities.
