Kaliningrad-based car manufacturer Avtotor is preparing for a large-scale expansion. According to the company's CEO, Ruslan Sadykov, the company is preparing two major projects with automakers that have not yet been named. By the end of 2025, the plant plans to start producing four full-cycle models, including welding, painting, and body assembly.
Avtotor has even more ambitious plans for 2026: the start of welding production for eight new car models. Their names are currently being kept secret, but it was previously reported that the plant has already established full-cycle production of Jetour Dashing crossovers.
To implement the expansion program, the company is building new welding shops and a modern painting complex with a capacity of up to 200,000 bodies per year. In addition, Avtotor is actively developing localization; it plans to establish production of seats, exhaust systems, plastic panels, and electronic components, including engine control units and stabilization systems, in Kaliningrad.
