A unique Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Pur Sang, one of only five ever produced, was sold at a RM Sotheby's auction in France. The car, with only 4,740 miles on the odometer, has retained its factory condition 17 years after its release.
The main feature of the Pur Sang version is the complete absence of paint. The body is assembled from polished aluminum and carbon fiber: shiny sides and nose are combined with a carbon fiber roof and hood.
This design reduces the weight of the car by almost 100 kg, improving dynamics. Under the hood is an 8-liter W16 with four turbines, producing 986 hp. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes only 2.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is 407 km/h.
At the auction, the hammer price stopped at 1.973 million euros.
