AvtoVAZ is ready to produce commercial vehicles under the SKM brand, but production has been postponed until certification is complete. This was announced by the head of the company, Maxim Sokolov.
According to him, the market is currently "not favorable" to new projects, so the launch will be timed to coincide with a favorable moment.
We will produce this product, naturally, as certification is ready, so that all controlling, supervisory bodies, and, most importantly, we, as responsible manufacturers, are confident in its compliance with all requirements.
Sokolov added that theoretically the start could take place even in 2025, but the exact timing depends on certification and market conditions.
Under the SKM brand, it is planned to produce passenger vans, all-metal trucks and chassis with an open platform. The cars will occupy a niche between Lada Largus station wagons and larger commercial vehicles, focusing on private clients and businesses.
