A rare lot for fans of Soviet rally cars has appeared in Slovakia — a racing VAZ-2105 VFTS, offered for 50,000 euros (approximately 4.4 million rubles). The advertisement was placed by a seller from the city of Komarno, and the car is described as "new", since it has only traveled about 100 km after restoration.
The work was carried out by the tuning studio TBR-Racing. This is an original 1984 model, built to the standards of the famous VFTS — Vilnius Factory of Vehicles. It was there that rally Ladas were created in Soviet times based on serial VAZ bodies.
The main value of the car is its absolute combat readiness. The engine displacement has been increased from 1.6 to 2 liters, and the power has been increased to 228 hp.
The engine works in conjunction with a reinforced five-speed gearbox. The body and chassis are assembled for rally loads, so the car corresponds to the spirit of the era when such "Fives" made noise on European special stages.
