At the end of 2025, 890,000 passenger cars were imported into Russia, which is 32.5% less than the year before. In 2024, the import volume reached 1.32 million cars, according to Sergey Tselikov, Director of the Autostat analytical agency.
Imports of new passenger cars up to three years old decreased by 57% - to 396,000 units. Of this volume, official distributors imported 224,000 cars, which is more than three times less than the 2024 figure, when it amounted to 743,000 cars.
The leaders in the import of new cars were the Chinese brands Changan with a share of 26%, Geely - 16% and Tank - 7%.
The volume of alternative imports decreased by 5 percent and amounted to 172,000 cars. Toyota, BMW and Geely were the most popular in this segment.
In the segment of used cars older than three years, imports, on the contrary, increased by 25% - to 494,000 units. Most often, Toyota, Honda and BMW cars were imported into Russia.
