UAZ to Launch Diesel "Profi": Sales Start in Summer 2026

The company will launch models with a new engine and 6-speed manual transmission

Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) is preparing to launch diesel versions of the "Profi" commercial vehicles. Sales of UAZ "Profi 4×4" and "Profi Polutorka" models with a new diesel engine will start closer to Q3 2026.

The commercial vehicles will receive a two-liter diesel engine, which will work in tandem with a six-speed manual gearbox. The updated versions will be released after the restyled UAZ "Patriot" and "Pickup".

The company clarified that the official start of sales is scheduled for the beginning of the third quarter of 2026. At the same time, UAZ denied reports that diesel "Profi" vehicles have already been delivered to dealers.

About six months ago, a pilot batch of "Profi Polutorka" with a diesel unit was assembled, but these cars were used exclusively for trial customer trips to dealerships.

In the spring, the model was certified and received Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS). The cars that some dealers put up for sale belong to this test batch. Such versions were not mass-produced.

Against the background of the market situation, UAZ decided to postpone the full-fledged launch of diesel modifications to 2026. The automaker promised to announce the official prices for cars with a turbodiesel and a six-speed "mechanics" directly before the start of sales.
