A new domestic electric car has been developed in Russia, which they hope to make available to a wide audience. ZKM LLC (Compact Electric Vehicle Plant), registered in Kaliningrad, has patented the design of a new model, and photos have appeared in the FIPS database.
The project is being led by the advanced engineering school of electric transport at the Moscow Polytechnic University. The university emphasizes that the future hatchback will be the first electric car fully developed and localized in Russia. The electric motor, traction battery, power electronics and fast charging system were created by domestic developers.
It is assumed that mass production will be launched at the Avtotor site in the Kaliningrad region.
The car body is planned to be made of polymeric materials. The maximum speed will be 85 km/h, the range is up to 300 km. The line includes a passenger version for four seats, a commercial modification with two seats and a version for people with disabilities.
The main audience of the model will be young drivers, families, as well as car sharing and delivery services. The base price was previously called at the level of about one million rubles, while the battery is supposed to be provided under a leasing scheme with subsequent replacement when the capacity drops to 70%.
