According to Sergey Tselikov, the founder of Avtostat, 80.6 thousand new passenger cars were registered in Russia in January 2026. Of these, 47.5 thousand cars, or 59%, were produced at Russian factories. Thus, the share of local assembly for the first time since 2023 approached the 60% mark.
LADA remains the leader in terms of sales of Russian-made cars with a share of 41.3%. Haval, which produces cars at a factory in the Tula region, took second place — 20.7%. The third was the Tenet brand with a result of 18.8%. Under this brand, Chery crossovers are assembled at the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga. The gap between the top three and the rest of the market participants exceeds five times.
Solaris took fourth place with a share of 3.2%, Moskvich took fifth place — 2.1%. Next come Jaecoo and Exeed (1.8% each), Voyah (1.7%), Jetour (1.6%), Chery (1.5%), UAZ and Evolute (1.1% each), Omoda (1.0%), XCite (0.7%), Sollers (0.4%) and JAC (0.3%).
Tselikov recalled that until 2022, the share of Russian-made cars consistently exceeded 80%. The minimum value was recorded in September 2024 — 37.7%, after which the indicator began to grow steadily.
