Renault has announced the Bridger compact SUV concept, which will compete with the Suzuki Jimny. The model is aimed at the Asian, African, and Middle Eastern markets and is not planned for sale in Europe.

The Bridger Concept will be less than 4 meters long. For comparison, the Renault 4 reaches 4.14 m, and the Dacia Duster is about 4.34 m. Despite its compact dimensions, the manufacturer promises a spacious interior. The design is dominated by angular shapes, and the spare wheel will be on the tailgate.

Technical specifications have not yet been disclosed. The model is expected to receive gasoline or hybrid power plants, similar to the Indian Renault Duster. The base engine is a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine with 99 hp and a six-speed manual transmission. A 1.3-liter turbo engine with 158 hp with a "robot" and a 1.8-liter hybrid with 158 hp are also available.

The production version will be developed in India, probably at the plant in Chennai. It will be part of the brand's international expansion strategy. The full presentation of the Bridger Concept will take place next week.
