The engine is considered reliable, but minor problems are possible, including unstable idling. The timing belt needs to be replaced every 50 thousand km, and after 200 thousand km, hydraulic compensators may require attention.
In second place is the Ford Focus II. Versions of 2006–2007 with a 1.6-liter engine with 100 hp are available in the budget. The engine is reliable if the timing belt is replaced in a timely manner every 80–90 thousand km and high-quality fuel is used. The automatic transmission, with regular maintenance, is capable of running up to 350–400 thousand km.
