BYD officially unveiled its new flagship sedan, the Da Han, which now leads the Dynasty family. The new model not only surpassed the current Han in size but also proved to be longer than the standard Mercedes-Benz S-Class, focusing on a spacious interior, modern technology, and impressive powertrain characteristics.
The car's dimensions are 5,256 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,510 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. For comparison, the standard Mercedes-Benz S-Class is 5,179 mm long with a wheelbase of 3,106 mm.
The design is executed in the brand's new signature style. The sedan features narrow LED headlights integrated by a light strip, a low front end, and an aerodynamic silhouette with virtually hidden body pillars thanks to black trim.
The main feature of the Da Han is its powertrains. The basic all-electric version is equipped with a 102 kWh battery and a single electric motor with 370 kW (496 hp). Depending on the modification, the declared range according to the CLTC cycle reaches 970–1,008 km.
For buyers who prioritize maximum dynamics, BYD will offer an all-wheel-drive version with two electric motors. An additional motor on the front axle increases the total power to 570 kW (764 hp). In this configuration, the range is 820–880 km according to the CLTC cycle. It should be noted that the Chinese testing methodology traditionally shows more optimistic results compared to the European WLTP cycle.
Additionally, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) will be available. It will feature a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, a 54.4 kWh battery, and an electric motor. The combined system output will be 422 hp, and the electric-only range will reach 470 km according to the CLTC cycle.
The company has not yet disclosed official prices or sales start dates. However, the introduction of the Da Han confirms BYD's ambition to establish itself in the executive car segment, traditionally dominated by German premium brands.
