The cost of repairing Chinese cars in Russia may double by the end of 2025. Spare parts for models not produced in Russia will become especially expensive - their price will increase by millions of rubles, which will make imports economically unprofitable.
Auto experts believe that the main reason for the price increase is the upcoming increase in the recycling fee - both for individuals and legal entities.
If the model is not localized in Russia, prices for cars will skyrocket by millions, which means it will simply be unprofitable to import them. So Chinese brands are highly likely to leave the Russian market.
Anton Shaparin, Vice President of the National Automobile Association, explained that body parts will become scarce, and consumables may rise in price by 20%.
This will lead to a sharp increase in the cost of repair work - up to a twofold increase.
This will likely be followed by a reduction in the supply of spare parts, including body elements.
