A bill has been submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, which assumes the mandatory availability of an CTP (carrier's civil liability insurance) policy for taxi drivers when submitting documents for a work permit. Currently, it is possible to obtain a permit without a valid insurance contract, and many unscrupulous drivers issue it only after starting work, which reduces the protection of passengers and the quality of services.
The bill requires the provision of policy data: start and end dates, contract number, name of the insurance company and a copy of the contract. This approach will allow immediate control over compliance with the requirements of the law and eliminate delays in obtaining insurance.
According to the authors of the initiative, the adoption of the document will protect the rights of passengers, ensure compensation for damage to life, health and property, and reduce administrative procedures for regional control of taxi transportation.
