Lada Vesta Receives Long-Awaited Classic Automatic Transmission, But Only by Custom Order

It's a Japanese 6-speed automatic transmission

LADA fans have long dreamed of a Vesta with a real automatic transmission, since the factory only offers a CVT. One of the owners of a model with a Renault JH3-510 manual transmission decided not to wait for factory solutions and turned to an independent workshop. There, they installed a Japanese 6-speed Aisin TF-70SC transmission with a two-year warranty, which is fully compatible with front-wheel drive and modern engines up to 2.0 liters.

This automatic transmission was produced in Japan from 2007 to 2024 and was installed on many front-wheel drive Peugeot-Citroen models, as well as on some Fiat cars for the American market. It is known for its reliability, smooth shifting and durability up to 250,000 km of mileage, and maintenance is required only once every 60,000 km.

The transmission is designed for a torque of up to 300 Nm, requires about 6.8 liters of Toyota ATF WS oil with a partial replacement of 3.5 liters. For Vesta owners, this opens up new possibilities: the car now combines the familiar comfort of a Japanese automatic with the character of a Russian bestseller.
