AvtoVAZ continues preparations for the launch of mass production of LADA Azimut. A high-precision gauge has been installed on the assembly line to control the geometry of exterior and interior parts.
The gauge is a reference body sample created using a 3D model with an accuracy of up to 0.2 mm. It is made of aluminum and weighs more than five tons. By installing a part in the gauge, specialists can visually assess its quality and take accurate measurements of the fit of components using probes and 3D scanners.
More than 800 original parts are being developed for LADA Azimut, of which 130 directly affect the appearance of the car. Similar high-precision gauges were previously used in the LADA Vesta and LADA Iskra projects.
As clarified at the enterprise, the gauge is used for mathematical assessment of perceived quality. It allows you to identify and measure minimal deviations even at the stage of production preparation and make adjustments to the technology or equipment. This should ensure stable compliance of parts with the standard and a uniform level of quality for each LADA Azimut.
