AvtoVAZ announced the imminent start of shipments of the updated Lada Niva Travel to dealers and revealed the full list of changes. The model has undergone a major modernization - more than a hundred improvements affected the engine, transmission, brakes and suspension. The main innovation was a 1.8-liter 8-valve engine with increased torque and improved performance at low revs; the manufacturer claims that it has become 30% more economical thanks to fifty updated components. The gearbox was adapted for the new unit, ventilated front discs were installed, a stabilizer bar and new non-separable bearings were added.
On the outside, the SUV received a redesigned bumper and radiator grille with improved cooling, which should increase reliability under heavy off-road use. The range includes five trim levels: Classic, Comfort, Life, Enjoy and Techno. All versions are equipped with modernized components, but the set of equipment varies significantly. Classic offers a basic set - airbags, power steering, power windows, heated mirrors, ABS and ERA-GLONASS. Comfort adds air conditioning, heated seats, a second airbag, roof rails and a spare tire cover.
Life complements the list with LED optics and a fifteen-inch alloy wheel, while Enjoy gets sixteen-inch wheels, multimedia with a camera and cruise control. The top version of Techno stands out with seventeen-inch wheels, a painted spare tire cover, tinting, full LED optics, DRLs, fog lights, the Lada Enjoy Pro system, heated windshield and an improved driver's seat with lumbar support.
