From January 1, 2026, the cost of vehicle inspection for cars will increase by an average of 9.7%. These calculations are provided by Kommersant, after analyzing more than 50 documents published on official legal information portals. For comparison, last year the tariff indexation was 7.4–7.5%.
The highest tariff will be set in Chukotka — 5.4 thousand rubles per car. In St. Petersburg, a vehicle inspection will cost 2 thousand rubles, in the Amur Region — 1.85 thousand, in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug — 1.75 thousand. The lowest prices were recorded in the Volgograd and Novgorod regions — 1.07 thousand rubles each, in most regions the cost of MOT will be about 1.2 thousand rubles. In some subjects, tariffs have not yet been approved, but draft price revisions have already been published.
Additionally, from September 1, 2025, a new state fee of 500 rubles was introduced for making changes to the Unified Technical Inspection System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs when issuing a diagnostic card. At the same time, the FAS is preparing a new methodology for calculating the minimum price of MOT — in the future it may amount to 1.15 thousand rubles instead of the current 913 rubles.
