Icelandic farmer Jómundur Ólason surprised a Skoda dealer by asking what the odometer of his car would show after passing the 999999 km mark. As it turned out, the owner of the car, in addition to daily trips to the farm, traveled all over the country in his favorite car, first getting behind its wheel in 2007, although it had been in the family since 2003 and he got it from his wife.
The car still has the original engine, which has not been overhauled, the original gearbox and clutch. The owner believes that the secret of such endurance is simple: do not overload, do not overheat and service the car in time.
The unique car was handed over by the owner to a technical college in Reykjavik, where it will be used as a teaching aid for students. Jómundur himself decided not to change his favorite brand and is now driving a new Skoda Octavia.
