AvtoVAZ intends to start developing and mastering new engines that will be installed on Lada Azimut and other models, according to the first Executive Vice President for Strategy and Technical Development of the company, Evgeny Shmelev.
In addition to continuing work on Lada Azimut, the development and mastering of new generations of engines will be carried out, which will be installed on the new product and other Lada models.
President of the concern Maxim Sokolov noted that a sharp decline in the Russian car market did not lead to a halt in work on future projects.
The priority for the manufacturer is the launch of a promising Lada Azimut crossover, created on the modernized Lada Vesta platform.
According to the head of the company, the expert community warmly welcomed the new product, now it only remains to work on launching it into series production.
Sokolov called the main challenges for the industry in the coming years reducing and maintaining prices throughout the financial chain, increasing production efficiency, ensuring high product quality and retaining labor collectives.
