Why Russians are buying up Toyota

Sales are still growing

Toyota car sales in Russia continue to grow. According to the Autostat agency, in September the Japanese automaker sold 3,308 new cars, which allowed it to rise from ninth to eighth place among the most popular brands in the country. Thus, Toyota has been in the top ten leaders of the Russian car market for the second month in a row.

According to Yuri Chistov, Development Director of the Fresh marketplace, the brand's success is due to a combination of several factors. First of all, it is a reputation for exceptional reliability. For decades, Toyota has been associated with durability, high build quality and technological thoughtfulness. The company's production standards have become a benchmark for the entire industry, which has strengthened customer confidence.

An equally important advantage remains the stable liquidity of Toyota cars in the secondary market. Even used models of the brand — from compact sedans to large SUVs — retain demand and high residual value, regardless of age and condition.

The expert also noted that the possible increase in the recycling fee is unlikely to significantly affect demand. Toyota's model line includes both cars with moderate power up to 160 hp, which fall under preferential conditions, and flagship models such as the Land Cruiser 300, which remain вне competition in terms of prestige and проходимости. According to Chistov, even if market conditions change, Russian buyers will continue to choose Toyota — for its reliability, reputation and proven quality.
