BYD intends to introduce key proprietary technologies into its mass-market Qin and Song models in 2026, including a fast battery charging system at low temperatures. The information has been confirmed by several independent sources and published by the IT Home portal.
The main goal of the new technology is to improve the operation of electric vehicles in the northern regions of China, where the cold climate limits the development of the electric vehicle market. The BYD-developed system will significantly reduce charging times even at sub-zero temperatures, which is especially important for the Northeast and Northwest regions of the country.
In addition to fast-charging batteries, BYD plans to expand the use of other advanced solutions, including the "Eye of God B" and "Cloud Chariot C" systems, which are responsible for intelligent control and driving dynamics.
The decision on technological "decentralization" coincides with the slowdown in the company's growth. In September 2025, BYD's sales fell for the first time in a year and a half - 396,270 vehicles versus 419,426 a year earlier (-5.5%). Earlier, Reuters reported that the manufacturer had cut its annual sales plan by 16% to 4.6 million vehicles.
