The appearance of vibrations in a car at high speed is not just a matter of comfort, but a possible sign of technical problems. According to automotive expert and editor-in-chief of Quto.Ru Maxim Rakitin, the source of such sensations most often lies in the wheels or steering elements. Ignoring such symptoms is not worth it, because over time the situation can only worsen.
According to the specialist, one of the most common reasons is wheel imbalance. This can occur, for example, due to incorrect installation of balancing weights or their displacement. In addition, vibrations are often associated with wear or damage to parts of the steering mechanism — tie rods, tips and other components responsible for steering precision.
The expert emphasizes that in case of steering malfunctions, the runout increases over time and becomes especially noticeable at speed. In such a situation, a full diagnosis and repair is necessary, and not attempts to "endure" the problem. Earlier, auto experts also reminded that the change of season requires adjustment of driving style: mistakes in choosing speed and distance in the cold season can lead to much more serious consequences.
