There are no political prerequisites for Renault's return to AvtoVAZ at the moment, even in the long term, said Sergey Chemezov, head of the Rostec State Corporation.
In mid-May 2022, Renault transferred its stake in AvtoVAZ (67.7%) to the state ownership of Russia in the person of FSUE NAMI. The deal provided for an option to buy back the stake within six years.
Let's be realistic. There are no political prerequisites for this yet, they are not visible even in the very distant future. There are no substantive conversations with Renault on this topic either.
Chemezov also clarified that the conditions for the return of foreign companies to the Russian market are determined by the state.
