New changes in traffic regulations have prompted drivers to change tactics when interacting with inspectors. One of the popular methods has become quickly turning off the engine when stopping.
A representative of the traffic police noted that this turns off the dashboard, allowing you to hide possible malfunctions of the car, such as indicators of the ABS system or other safety systems.
This move risks arousing suspicion among the inspector. At the same time there are those who turn off the engine to avoid a fine for not wearing a seatbelt.
Some drivers believe that turning off the ignition after stopping will save them from responsibility, since the belt is only intended for movement. But this is a mistake - according to clause 2.1.2 of the traffic rules, a seat belt is required for use during the entire movement, and the inspector may notice a violation even when the engine is turned off.
Car owners were reminded that following traffic rules is an integral part of ensuring the safety of all its participants and traffic police officers are simply trying to avoid emergency situations
