The Ministry of Industry and Trade has published a preliminary list of cars that meet the requirements of the new law on the localization of taxis, which comes into force in March 2026. The criteria of the initiative are met by more than 20 models of six Russian brands.
The list includes seven Lada models — Iskra, Granta and Vesta, Largus, the long Aura sedan and Niva Travel and Niva Legend SUVs.
The list includes UAZ SUVs Hunter and Patriot, and Sollers SP7 minivan from Sollers. The list also includes the entire model range of Moskvich — models with indices 3, 3e, 6, 8.
In addition, the requirements of the law on the localization of taxis include models produced at the car factory in the Lipetsk region — Evolute i-Pro, i-Joy, i-Sky, i-Jet, i-Space, as well as Voyah Free, Passion and Dream.
The requirements of the law, which will come into force on March 1, 2026, will apply to cars included in the regional registers of passenger taxis after the date the law comes into force. Delays are provided for the regions of the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts, as well as the Kaliningrad Region.
