KamAZ has launched serial production of modernized 54901 tractors in the Hi-tech configuration. The factory has already assembled 20 vehicles, with another 15 to appear in December, and ten units will be sent to foreign customers in the coming weeks. The new batch is aimed at customers who require maximum equipment and improved driving performance.
The Hi-tech version received aerodynamic fairings on the cab and chassis, allowing to reduce fuel consumption by 5–10%. The equipment list includes adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, emergency braking system, electronic braking, stability control, ABS, and anti-skid function. These solutions significantly improve safety and make long-distance trips more comfortable.
The main update is a 13-liter engine with 560 hp and 2,600 Nm, working with a 12-speed automated drive and a retarder, which reduces the load on the brakes. Two fuel tanks provide up to 5,000 km of range without refueling. The 2.5 m wide cab is made using new technology, has a high ceiling, a flat floor, two sleeping places, and a built-in refrigerator, while retaining all the advantages of the flagship version.
