From April to September, AvtoVAZ managed to assemble only about 1,000 units of the new Lada Iskra model. Over five months, the average production rate was only about 200 cars per month, which is an extremely modest figure for mass production. However, the plant is gradually increasing capacity and plans to reach a level of over 100 cars per week in the near future.
Even at this rate, achieving the annual plan of 12-15 thousand cars will be problematic. To meet the stated targets, the plant will need to significantly speed up assembly, otherwise Lada Iskra will remain a rarity on the market. Nevertheless, the launch of the new car continues, and AvtoVAZ is gradually building a supply chain.
Lada Iskra occupies an intermediate position between Granta and Vesta. Buyers are offered versions with 1.6-liter engines with a capacity of 90 and 106 hp, as well as three transmission options: its own 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual of Chinese production, and a CVT. The cost of the model ranges from 1.25 to 1.8 million rubles.
