The Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad is entering the final stage of preparations for the serial production of a compact electric vehicle of its own design. The model is aimed at delivery services, car sharing, and mass consumers with average incomes. Key components have already been tested, including domestically produced electric motors, a gearbox, and an inverter created in collaboration with FSUE "NAMI." The main version of the power plant, which meets localization requirements, has been approved.
In the future, the electric car will be equipped with domestic battery modules from RENERA, for which the necessary equipment has already been manufactured. In terms of dimensions, the new product will be close to the A-class, which includes popular small cars like Daewoo Matiz and Kia Picanto. This format will make the car compact and convenient for urban use.
In addition to sales to private buyers, Avtotor plans to supply corporate clients and social services. The launch of production will expand the range of domestic electric vehicles and increase the level of localization, reducing dependence on imported components.
