The period of price reductions for cars in Russia has come to an end. The news about the increase in the recycling fee from November 1 spurred car sales.
Evgeny Zhitnukhin, Commercial Director of the Fresh car marketplace, reported that car dealerships recorded a 30% increase in demand compared to August, which was successful in terms of sales, which gave reason to slightly adjust prices and discount policies.
Warehouses are emptying, and the year of manufacture, color and configuration are receding into the background for many buyers.
Renat Tyukteev, Deputy General Director for Sales of New Cars at AG Avilon, added that September was the first month of the year when importers weakened their discount budgets.
The main reason was the increase in sales in the summer. More than 70% of manufacturers have cut support programs, which affected the reduction in the level of discounts in the market.
A significant increase in prices in the car market is expected by the beginning of November, which is facilitated by the high key rate of the Central Bank, the planned increase in the recycling fee and the persistent shortage of new cars.
In the mass segment, the increase will be 2-3%, in the premium segment - by 10-15%, and the price of electric vehicles and hybrids may increase by 10-20%.
