Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant is not going to radically redesign its iconic Hunter SUV. A company representative told Gazeta.Ru that the car fully meets current tasks. "Hunter is, in fact, a reliable tool for professionals. With the new 2.7-liter ZMZ Pro engine, it copes with its functions", UAZ noted. No significant changes in design or construction are expected in the near future.
Nevertheless, the plant is working to improve quality. UAZ is updating production and cooperating with new suppliers to improve the reliability and characteristics of manufactured vehicles. This may lead to minor modifications to the model, but there is no talk of radical changes.
Hunter, the successor to the legendary UAZ-469, has been produced since 2003. In 2014, it was planned to be discontinued due to its outdated design, but in 2015, production was resumed, adapting the model to the Euro-5 standards and safety requirements. In 2022, a jubilee version was released, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the model.
