In 2025, the Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) significantly increased production automation: eight new robotic complexes, including 55 industrial robots, started operating at the enterprise. As a result, the total number of robots at GAZ reached 630 units, and the level of automation in modernized areas exceeded 85%.
According to the company, new complexes have been introduced on several key production lines at once. For example, a fully automatic line with seven welding robots has been launched at the welding section of the spars of all-metal vans "Gazelle Next" and "Gazelle NN". This made it possible to increase productivity from 9 to 12 sets of spars per hour.
Significant changes also occurred in the welding section of the "Sobol NN" body sidewalls: six additional robots were installed there, and the output of parts more than doubled - without increasing the number of personnel. A similar modernization affected the welding of the sidewalls of single and double cabs of "Gazelle Next", "Gazelle NN" and "Gazon Next", where productivity increased from 12 to 20 sidewalls per hour.
In addition to the main automobile production, five new robotic complexes with 20 robots were put into operation at the group's auto component enterprises. The company emphasizes that the focus on robotization makes it possible to simultaneously improve product quality, reduce the influence of the human factor and speed up the production of commercial vehicles.
